Post Title: Administrative Assistant

Post Location: This position will be based at our Primary provision in Crayford. However, Shenstone School is an all-through school, split over three local sites. Please be aware that you will need to work at all of our sites.

Contract Type: Permanent Hours/Weeks: 35 hours per week/40 weeks per year (term-time plus 2 weeks). 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (ideally but there could be slight amendment to these hours e.g. 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Salary/Grade: Bexley 5 £28,521 full-time equivalent £24,354 actual salary

About the Role

As an Administrative Assistant at Shenstone School, you will be part of a supportive and dedicated team providing a positive, professional and welcoming environment to all members of the school community.

You will provide efficient and timely administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team in all areas including Pupil Attendance & Welfare, Finance and Human Resources.

A flexible attitude towards work is essential, along with an ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and visitors. You must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work using your own initiative as well as work as an effective team member. You should have a strong customer service ethos and be able to cope with conflicting demands.

The post will be 5 days each week, term time only (plus 2 weeks) initially based at the Crayford site, however the successful candidate must be prepared to work flexibly in hours and location. It is paramount that you feel confident and resilient in working with pupils with challenging behaviour. As individuals, each pupil presents with different abilities and behavioural needs which vary from child to child. Post Title: Site Team Member (2 positions available)

Post Location: Shenstone Secondary School – This position will be based at our Secondary provision in Halt Robin Way, Belvedere which will be opened in September 2025. Temporarily we are based at Jubilee Primary School, Thamesmead. However, Shenstone School is an all-through school, split over three local sites. Please be aware that although you are normally assigned to one site, you may be asked to work at any of our sites either on a permanent or temporary basis. This ultimately depends on operational feasibility.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours/Weeks: The site needs to be in operation from 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Two positions are available to cover these times.

Flexibility in shift patterns are available and can be discussed with the successful candidates at interview but have to meet operational feasibility of the school. Please bear in mind despite a contractual shift pattern, flexibility will also be required for the purposes of sickness/holiday cover and for school events.

Please specify on your application form the shift pattern that you are interested in.

For example: Full-time: 36.25 hours (6:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.) or (10:15 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

Part-time 25 hours (6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) or (1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

2 X 30 hours shifts: 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. plus 12 noon – 6:30 p.m.

Salary/Grade: Bexley 6 £29,346 full-time equivalent

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a vibrant and enthusiastic member of staff to lead on day-to-day maintenance and site management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for security, maintenance, cleanliness of the site, heating, health & safety, general day-to-day running of the school and help in preparing for events. You will be expected to oversee work by other members of the site team and contractors, feeding back regularly to the Facilities Manager.

The successful candidate will be hard-working, enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable. You must be well organised and able to work to a high standard within set timescales. The successful candidate is required to hold a valid driver’s licence as they would be required to travel to all three of our sites from time-to-time and also be required to drive the school mini bus (proof of driving licence will be required during the recruitment process).

Experience of a similar role is desirable but training will be provided for someone with the right skills. The successful candidate should hold or be willing to undertake and maintain a First Aid certificate. Occasional overtime will be required for school events (evenings and weekends) and holiday cover, alarm call outs etc.
